Summer School 2017
August 14th -18th / 21st – 25th (For levels from Elementary, intermediate to Advanced)
Pacific DanceArts holds a Summer School each year during the month of August. The Summer School is a two week seminar designed for students from Elementary to Advanced levels. Classes range in variety from ballet, Contemporary. pointe, men’s technique, character dance and repertoire to stretching.
Pacific DanceArts' Summer School teachers include artistic director, Li Yaming, and faculty of Pacific DanceArts, as well as established guest teachers from Canada and the United States. Previous guest teachers include: Johnny W. Chang and Evelyn Hart of RWB, Li Anlin of Texas Ballet Theater, Kathryn Warakomsky of Houston Ballet, as well established contemporary dance artists, all of whom with an extensive professional dance background.
Students interested in attending Pacific DanceArts’ Summer School are advised to attend a placement class or audition prior to registration.

Summer Dance Camp 2017
July 10 - 14 / 9:00 - 3:00 / for ages 5 - 9 years. At "Studio 3", Pacific DanceArts’s Vancouver Westside location: 3327 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver BC.An exciting, stimulating week of dance, for young dancers ages 5 to 9 years. This enriched program will move students beyond the basic ballet class to develop creativity and musicality all in a fun, safe environment. Classes to include:
* Ballet - classical ballet technique and choreography * Creative Movement - create your own story using music, movement, and acting * Art - projects influenced by themes presented in Creative Movement class * Stretch - simple, gentle, stretches catered to the individual students’ natural range of motion * Music for Dancers - learn the music notation and how to dance the basic rhythms for waltz, minute, and gavotte. * Explore where the accents are in music and how they influence the movement of the dance. * Outdoor Play - structured games and play time at the park. * Special guests from Coastal City Ballet will be visiting to give demos of pointe work, pas de deux, costumes & stage makeup.
