Student Progress/ Assessment Methods
Verbal assessments are provided daily to allow students to progress throughout the program. Verbal assessments are the most valued, as a student repeats a limited number of steps and the visual feedback allows students to improve quickly.  Written assessments are provided to students one-third of the way through the program and also at the end. Written assessments are completed by the Artistic Director and the School Director with additional advice from instructors. The written assessment includes a “Notes” section which gives students clarification on the various aspects of their assessment and aides them in their progress.

Attendance Expectations

Full attendance to all of the classes and rehearsals in the program is expected. Students who will be absent from classes or rehearsals due to an explained absence are required to notify the office as laid out in the school policy.

Dress Expectations

For contemporary/modern, Coastal City Ballet requires bare feet unless otherwise specified. Shorts that expose the dancers’ buttocks will not be accepted. Ribbons must be worn on pointe shoes.
Graduation Requirements
