Born in Vancouver, Kiera completed her professional training at Arts Umbrella under the direction of Artemis Gordon. She was a proud recipient of the BC Arts Council Scholarship Award for excellence in dance in 2011. After graduating in 2012 she apprenticed with Ballet BC for one season under the direction of Emily Molnar. In 2013, she joined Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal under the direction of Louis Robitaille where she performed leading roles in pieces by Andonis Foniadakis, Itzik Galili, Rodrigo Pederneiras, Cayetano Soto, Barak Marshall and Wen Wei Wang. For four years she toured extensively with BJM, performing in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Slovenia, China, Israel, Mexico, USA and across Canada. Kiera returned to Vancouver to join Ballet BC from 2017-2020. She has had the opportunity to perform works both in Vancouver and on tour by Emily Molnar, Medhi Walerski, Sharon Eyal, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Aszure Barton, Johan Inger, Serge Bennathan and Adi Salant among others. In 7 years of touring Kiera has had the privilege to teach workshops for students all over the world.
Suzanne Ouellette UBCP, ACTRA, CAEA
Suzanne is an independent artist working as a master ballet teacher and choreographer with dance studios, aspirants and professional companies.
Originally from Vancouver, she trained and danced with some of the worlds finest ballet companies from Germany’s Stuttgart Ballet to Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, London England’s Dance Centre to Pacific Ballet Theatre (Ballet B.C.)
She performed as a lead dancer, singer and actress in professional musicals from the Vancouver Playhouse, to
Calgary’s Stage West and several productions for TUTS, MUSSOC and Winnipeg’s Rainbow Stage.
As the ballet mistress / rehearsal director for Ballet BC for 5 years under Artistic Director John Alleyne, she worked with James Kudelka, Paul Taylor, Jean Grand Maitre, Reid Anderson, and Anna Marie Holmes. She has also rehearsed works with Joshua Beamish at MOVE the Company, Jennifer Mascall at Mascall Dance and rmost ecently for Simone Orlando and Wen Wei Wang at Ballet Kelowna.
A very creative and innovative choreographer, Suzanne has worked extensively with aspirants and professionals in TV / film, CBC TV specials, Columbia Pictures Promos, fashion shows for hair and clothing designers, dance programs for Canada’s Olympic skaters, numerous UBC Opera Department’s productions, Vancouver Opera Galas, Royal City Musical theatre productions, the Arts Club theatre, Richmond Gateway Theatre musicals, and Metro theatre pantomimes.
. Suzanne works with many dance studios, coaching YAGP entrants, guest teaching across Canada and adjudicating dance competitions. Well known in both classical ballet and musical theatre, she has a wealth of experience as a dancer, choreographer and teacher in both genres.
Eric was born and raised in North Vancouver. He started his professional career with Ballet BC and has worked with many companies throughout Europe and ending his career with The State Ballet of Georgia (Tbilisi), dancing his first leading role at the age of 21 as prince Siegfried in Swan Lake. Eric has partnered many top ballerinas including Nina Ananiashvili, Lali Kandelaki, Nino Gogua and Galina Čajka. Eric’s career highlights include dancing the leading roles in Apollo by George Balanchine, Swan Lake, Giselle, The Nutcracker, La Bayadere, Le Conservatory, First flash by Jorma Elo, Oh Inverted World by Trey McIntyre and The Rite of Spring by Edward Clug. Along with this he has performed in countless Gala concerts throughout Austria, Italy, the United Kingdom, Croatia, Estonia, Slovenia, and Georgia.
Not only is he affluent in live performances but his work has also appeared in televised productions. Eric has taken part in multiple televised promotional interviews, including Morning news TV shows, and commercials.
Eric also had the privilege to be coached by Yelena Pankova, Irek Mukhamedov and Aleksei Fadeechev. In 2013 he won, along with his partner Nini Samadashvili the Grand Prix prize, First place in classical pas de deux and First place in Modern at the Riga spring international competition.
Since returning to Canada Eric has taught at several dance schools including Pacific Dance Arts, West Coast Ballet, SimplyBallet, and Vancouver Junior Professional Division to name a few. In the summer of 2014 and 2015 he attended a teachers training seminar at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet to further his knowledge of dance. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and love of dance.
